Members of Parliament are calling on the Government to take responsibility for delays in the Vasilikos natural gas terminal project, following a session of the Parliamentary Energy Committee. The Minister of Energy and the Auditor General attended the session.

Kyriakos Chatzigiannis, Chairman of the Energy Committee, expressed concern about the lack of a completion timeline and the absence of accountability. Stefanos Stefanou, General Secretary of AKEL, emphasized that citizens continue to pay the second-highest electricity prices in Europe. Michalis Giakoumi from DIKO, highlighted the need for transparency and a specific roadmap.

The MPs urged the Government to present an immediate action plan with timelines and cost estimates, and demanded that those responsible for the current energy situation in Cyprus be held accountable.
