The Parliamentary Education Committee has appealed to the Educational Service Committee regarding the transfers of teachers, particularly mothers. The Chairman of the Committee, Pavlos Mylonas, stated that the Committee is ready to cooperate to resolve the problem faced by teachers.

Mr. Mylonas mentioned that teachers are being transferred from Paralimni and Sotira to Paphos and Polis Chrysochous, or from Nicosia. He considers the situation inhumane and called on OELMEK to assist by suggesting exchanges with older teachers.

According to Mr. Mylonas, the problem is mainly located in Paphos, where there is an insufficient number of teachers. The Educational Service Committee could send teachers from Limassol instead of transferring mothers from remote areas.

Mr. Mylonas stressed that it concerns a small number of people, but the situation requires immediate attention to avoid family disruption or refusal of appointments.
