British MP Afzal Khan Visits Occupied Territories Via Illegal Airport

British Labour MP and UK Trade Envoy to Turkey, Afzal Khan, arrived in the occupied territories using the illegal Tymbou airport.

According to Turkish Cypriot media, Mr. Khan, MP for Manchester Rusholme, will be awarded an honorary doctorate at the "Department of Political Science and International Relations" of the "American University of Kyrenia." The ceremony is scheduled for August 11.

Upon his arrival, Mr. Khan was greeted by officials from the Turkish Cypriot National Unity Party, the university's "rector," associates of the Turkish Cypriot leader, and representatives from business and cultural associations.

Afzal Khan has served as a shadow minister, Member of the European Parliament (2014-2017), and Lord Mayor of Manchester. In 2008, he was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
