Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis stated in an interview with radio station Proto Programma 91.6 that strengthening the economy and the Armed Forces is the essence of patriotic policy.

Referring to the initiatives to be announced by the Prime Minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), Hatzidakis stressed that tax cuts increase citizens' disposable income, providing relief from inflation.

Regarding the opposition's criticism of surpluses, the Deputy Prime Minister replied that these come from growth and combating tax evasion, adding that the government has not increased any taxes.

He also commented that after the unfreezing of salaries in 2022, civil servants have received increases equivalent to 1.3 salaries.

Regarding the new Disciplinary Code for civil servants, Hatzidakis stressed that procedures are being accelerated for faster adjudication of cases.

Finally, regarding Greek-Turkish relations, he reiterated that the government believes in peaceful coexistence but will not relinquish national rights and interests. He also clarified that there is no intention to change the electoral law.
