Christodoulides Announces €1B+ Projects in Nicosia

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, announced more than 80 projects totaling over €1 billion for Nicosia and its surrounding communities. The announcement was made at an event at the Nicosia Municipal Theater on June 30, 2025.

The projects cover social policy, health, education, culture, transport, green development, and support for youth and families. Key initiatives include the creation of care centers for people with disabilities, urban regeneration, transport interventions, sustainable development initiatives, investments in culture and education, and housing plans.

Significant projects include the Vasilikos–Nicosia water interconnection, the New Cyprus Archaeological Museum (€144 million), and the upgrade of Konstantinou Palaiologou Avenue. Traffic decongestion projects are also planned, such as the Nicosia Peripheral Road and the Nicosia–Troodos and Nicosia–Palaichori highways.
