Christodoulides: Ready for Expanded Meeting on Cyprus Issue

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, stated his readiness to participate in a new expanded meeting on the Cyprus issue, even next week, with the aim of an immediate resumption of talks.
In an interview with the newspaper "Ta Nea", Mr. Christodoulides mentioned that time was lost due to Ersin Tatar's position in favor of a two-state solution. He also emphasized that Nicosia is investing in the statements of Tufan Erhurman, who supports a bizonal, bicommunal federation solution and the resumption of talks from where they left off in 2017.
Asked about the impact of Greek-Turkish relations, President Christodoulides stressed that their improvement could help in the effort to restart the talks.
