Christodoulides: The Republic of Cyprus is part of the solution, not the problem

President Christodoulides stated that the Republic of Cyprus is part of the solution and not the problem, at an event honoring the fighters of the 1963-’64 Turkish insurgency.
He noted that the Republic of Cyprus has been holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union since January 1st and is taking an active role as a pillar of security and stability in the region.
The President referred to Turkey's divisive plans and the 1974 Turkish invasion, emphasizing the commitment to the struggle for the liberation and reunification of the homeland. He also stressed the need to strengthen the economy and the state, as well as address immigration issues.
Internationally, the Republic of Cyprus is a hub of stability and a transit station.
The President praised the sacrifice of the volunteer fighters and the effort to recognize their contribution.
