Christodoulides: Cyprus Ready for Schengen in 2026

President Christodoulides emphasized Cyprus' readiness to join the Schengen Zone in 2026 during a press conference with the President of the Commission.

He also highlighted the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency and the goal of fully implementing the Pact on Migration and Asylum, with an informal ministerial meeting in Cyprus in June. The informal European Council on February 12 will focus on competitiveness.

He also provided updates on developments in the Cyprus issue and the proposal to create a Firefighting Hub based near the Andreas Papandreou air base in Paphos.
