Christodoulides: Erdoğan Invited to Cyprus for 2026 Conference

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Christodoulides, stated that he intends to invite Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan to the European Union regional conference to be held in Cyprus in 2026, during the Cypriot presidency.

During a visit to the offices of the secretariat of the Cypriot presidency of the Council of the EU in Nicosia, Mr. Christodoulides was asked about his statements regarding the invitation of Mr. Erdoğan, within the framework of a new approach by the Republic of Cyprus.

Answering a question about a possible invitation to Pope Leo XIV, Mr. Christodoulides mentioned that there are plans and discussions in progress.
