Christodoulides Honored the Memory of Alekos Michaelides in Milikouri

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, attended the annual memorial service for the former President of the Parliament and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alekos Michaelides, at the Holy Church of Agios Georgios in Milikouri.

Subsequently, the President attended the inauguration of the Polys Polydorou museum, also honoring the father of Alekos Michaelides, the folk craftsman Polys Polydorou.

In his speech, Mr. Christodoulides praised the personality and work of Alekos Michaelides, emphasizing his contribution to Cyprus as President of the Parliament and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as his role in promoting Cyprus' European orientation and strengthening diplomatic relations with Israel.

The President also referred to the importance of the Polys Polydorou museum, which is housed in the craftsman's old shoemaking workshop, preserving the memory of traditional professions.

Nikos Christodoulides pledged state support to the community of Milikouri.
