The Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, announced that the installation of 1,000 cameras on the roads to record traffic violations will begin in June. The operation of the cameras will be under the responsibility of the Ministry of Infrastructure, while the Hellenic Police will be able to impose electronic fines.

In addition, the Ministry of Citizen Protection will submit a bill for the use of bodycams by police officers.

Referring to the delays in the installation of cameras in the Attica Region, Mr. Chrysochoidis expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of public administration.
