Five Greek Cypriots Held in Occupied Territories 'Without Air Conditioning'

The online newspaper “Özgür” reports that the five Greek Cypriots, all over 60 years old, who were arrested in the Gastria Famagusta area, have been held in detention centers without air conditioning for 10 days.
Under the title 'Political Reciprocal Hostage-Taking: Inhumane Treatment of Cypriots', the newspaper refers to the case of the Greek Cypriot family who appealed to the 'immovable property committee' for their property, on which a complex of 75 houses has been built. The family visited the area to see the changes.
“Özgür” recalls that initially there were reports from media close to Turkey that those arrested were spies. A resident of the area reported that the 'police' called him to complain about the five.
The publication claims that the detention of the five elderly Greek Cypriots in cells without air conditioning constitutes 'political retaliation' for the detention of Simon Aykut in the Republic of Cyprus.
