German Foreign Minister: 'Good to have Cyprus as a friend in difficult times'

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul was welcomed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday by his Cypriot counterpart, Konstantinos Kombos. The German Minister noted in the guest book that 'in these difficult times it is good to have Cyprus as a good friend and partner with the same values'.

He added that 'together we strive for peace and a strong Europe,' and thanked Cyprus for its 'responsible involvement' 'as a bridge in the Middle East and as President of the EU Council'.

Following a private meeting and bilateral consultations, the two Ministers are expected to make statements.
