Doria Varoshiotou Case: Decision on Return to Bench Expected Today

The proceedings before the Supreme Constitutional Court regarding Judge Doria Varoshiotou's request to return to her position, pending the hearing of her appeal against the termination of her services, have concluded.
Ms. Varoshiotou's lawyer, Achilles Dimitriadis, argued that the decision has not been suspended for 15 days since the appeal was filed. Mr. Polys Polyviou, representing the Constitutional Court, confirmed the suspension but questioned its effects.
Mr. Dimitriadis emphasized the need to answer the question of whether the decree requested by Ms. Varoshiotou will be granted. On his part, Mr. Polyviou questioned what Mr. Dimitriadis seeks and argued that suspension means freezing, not creating a new situation.
The Court is expected to issue a decision later today.
