Ministry of Education: Fourteen Actions for the New School Year

The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, announced fourteen actions to be implemented at the start of the new school year, aimed at improving public schools.
The actions include:
- Updating curricula and reducing content.
- Promoting digital skills for students and teachers.
- Operating all-day gymnasiums with an emphasis on new technologies and the Greek language.
- Implementing the strategy for violence and delinquency in schools.
- Improving the teaching of the Greek language in the classroom.
- Pilot implementation of the Technical Gymnasium institution.
- German language learning program in Gymnasium (pilot).
- Reintroduction of the work week in the second year of Lyceum.
- Expanding financial literacy education in Gymnasium.
- Expanding the eΔΕΑ electronic administration and education system.
- Improving procedures in regional special education committees.
- Reintroduction of Civic Education.
- Strengthening the self-evaluation of the school unit.
- Improving and upgrading schools of special interest.
Michaelidou stated that the goals concern all levels of education, with an emphasis on a student-centered approach and moving away from the exam-centered model.
