Cabinet Approves Teleworking Regulation in Public Service

The Council of Ministers has approved a bill to regulate teleworking in the Cypriot public service, including mixed teleworking.
The Public Service (Working Hours) Regulations were also approved to regulate the possibility of reduced employment and extension of flexible working hours.
The implementation date will be determined after the legislation is passed by the House of Representatives.
The teleworking bill includes the conditions and terms of implementation, with the main condition being the ability to perform duties remotely.
The regulation of reduced employment of up to 2 hours per working day, with a corresponding reduction in pay, is also being promoted for specific categories of employees.
In addition, flexible working hours are being extended, and the unification and modernization of existing regulations are being promoted.
For the implementation of flexible forms of employment, the installation of appropriate electronic systems for controlling the time of arrival and departure of employees is mandatory.
