Reactions have been triggered in Venice ahead of the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, with residents expressing concerns about the privatization of the city.

The wedding, expected to last three days, will take place at iconic locations in Venice. Activists denounce that the city is being transformed into a private entertainment venue, negatively impacting daily life, the environment and housing.

According to Italian media, the wedding reception will be held on the island of San Giorgio, opposite St. Mark's Square. The organization "No Space for Bezos" has organized demonstrations.

The municipal authorities defend the international exposure the city receives through the event.
