Maurikios Maurikiou: Strong Reaction to Antigoni's Eurovision Selection

Maurikios Maurikiou reacted strongly to the selection of Antigoni to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2026. Maurikios Maurikiou expressed his views on Katerina Kainourgiou's show, calling the decision an insult to Cypriot culture.

Maurikios Maurikiou stated: "No one knows Antigoni, no one in Cyprus knows the girl. The problem is that once again a decision was made behind closed doors that offends local artists, because they were not even given the opportunity to send their song. It is unacceptable that Cypriot artists have not been heard for 10 years."

He further emphasized: "They haven't even told us the criteria or who decided! It is unacceptable, they insult the culture of Cyprus by ignoring it and there is no transparency."
