Christina Pavlidou: Ageism Allegations in Theatre

Actress Christina Pavlidou spoke on the show “Sunday Night” with Christiana Aristotelous about the ageism she experienced in the theatre.

She stated, "I experienced ageism for a while, regarding the selection of plays. For a long time, there was ageism. Apart from the plays we do as 'Lexi' theatre, in other troupes and in our state theatre, all the plays were for up to 35 years old. And I was 50 and saying 'well, aren't there any plays for this age?'. Because it became an issue, we 'middle-aged women' complained, I think they pay more attention now."

Pavlidou mentioned that the issue was discussed and now there is more attention to the selection of plays.
