Archbishop George, as locum tenens of the Metropolitan throne of Paphos, has granted permission to the deposed Bishop Tychikos to perform the 6-year memorial service for his mother in his hometown of Mesana, Paphos, on the weekend of July 5-6. According to the Archbishopric, this decision was made on humanitarian grounds.

However, Tychikos' request to officiate at the Holy Monastery of the Cross of Minthis was rejected. A representative of the Archbishopric stated that Archbishop George had invited Tychikos to reside at the Holy Archbishopric in Nicosia, where he could officiate wherever he wished, thus avoiding contact with schismatic circles.

In the past, the I.M. Timiou Stavrou of Minthis hosted a group of Athonite monks led by Abbot Joseph, who were hostile to the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Tychikos' proposal is seen as an attempt to revive this group, possibly with the participation of ecclesiastical figures from the Metropolis of Limassol.

Regarding Tychikos' Confession of Faith, the Archbishopric stated that it does not meet the Synod's expectations, as it does not include a renunciation of the schismatics and compliance with the decisions of the Ecumenical Councils, including the Council in Crete.
