Concerns are rising at Makarios Hospital regarding the conditions in the Pediatric Oncology Unit. The «ΜΙΚΡΟΙ ΗΡΩΕΣ» foundation and the Pancyprian Association of Parents and Friends of the Pediatric Oncology Unit have expressed serious concerns about ongoing construction work.

In a letter to the Ministry of Health, the «ΜΙΚΡΟΙ ΗΡΩΕΣ» foundation highlighted parents' worries about the safety and hygiene of children due to the construction. Parents report nuisance and water leaks in the doctors' room and kitchen area.

The Parents' Association of the Pediatric Oncology Clinic points out problems such as continuous noise pollution, falling soil and dust, water leaks, and water supply interruptions. They are requesting an immediate re-evaluation of protection measures and an update to the risk management plan.
