Princess Diana's Time Capsule Opened Early – What Was Inside?

A time capsule buried in 1991 at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, on the initiative of Princess Diana, was opened on Monday, August 27, 2025, earlier than planned.
Princess Diana, then president of the hospital, placed the box together with child winners of a Blue Peter competition, wanting to leave an imprint of the era.
Contents of the time capsule:
- A Casio pocket television
- A Kylie Minogue CD (Rhythm of Love)
- A solar calculator
- British coins
- A copy of the Times with references to the Persian Gulf
- Photograph of Princess Diana
- Leaflet made from recycled paper
- Two tree seeds
- Snowflake holograms
- A passport of the era
The time capsule was originally intended to remain buried for hundreds of years, but was opened early due to work on the new pediatric oncology center.
This act recalls Diana's dedication to children.
