Philosopher Eftychis Bitsakis Passes Away

The distinguished philosopher and university professor Eftychis Bitsakis has passed away at the age of 91. He was a significant intellectual figure with a long career in Greek literature.

Eftychis Bitsakis studied Chemistry in Athens, Theoretical Physics and Philosophy in Paris. He taught at universities in France, the National Hellenic Research Foundation, the University of Ioannina, and the University of Athens.

In his work, he dealt with the Theory of Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Ontology, Epistemology, and Philosophical Anthropology. He participated in the National Resistance and the anti-dictatorial movement.

Bitsakis had written in the prologue of his book 'The Evergreen Tree of Knowledge': 'The old is dying and the new cannot be born'.
