Cyprus Archbishopric Prepares Suite for Tychikos, Disagreements over Crete Synod

The Archbishopric of Cyprus has prepared a "suite" for Metropolitan Tychikos, former Bishop of Paphos, in the room of the late Archbishop Chrysostomos, should he decide to reside in Nicosia.
According to a source at the Archbishopric, Archbishop Georgios wishes to discuss with Mr. Tychikos the role he will assume, provided he signs a confession of faith. However, disagreements exist regarding the reference to the Pan-Orthodox Synod of Crete (Kolympari, 2016) in the confession.
Theologian Theodoros Kyriakou pointed out that the omission of reference to the Synod of Crete in Mr. Tychikos' confession of faith is unacceptable. The majority of the members of the Holy Synod believe that acceptance of Synods cannot be selective.
Mr. Kyriakou argued that the Synod should insist that Tychikos also commemorate the Synod of Kolympari.
