Marie-Josèphe Béartini, a professor at the University Côte d'Azur, points out that social media amplifies extreme voices and makes online shaming viral. She mentions that the obsession with controlling women's bodies is not new, but social media risks normalizing it.

Influencers like Andrew Tate and Thaïs d'Escufon reproduce misogynistic narratives, warning about women with a 'high' bodycount. Béartini emphasizes that education and equality classes are the only weapon to combat this phenomenon.

The history of Facebook, according to Béartini, has similar roots, as it started as a catalog of the physical attributes of women at Harvard. The expert emphasizes the need for anti-stereotype actions in schools.
