Veterinary Association President: "Doctors Fainted… They Call Us Murderers"

The President of the Veterinary Association, Dimitris Epaminondas, broke down during the show "ENIMEROSI TORA" regarding the culling of animals infected with foot-and-mouth disease.

He stated that veterinarians are receiving strong criticism, resulting in psychologically damaging situations. Mr. Epaminondas emphasized that some of his colleagues fainted during the procedure.

"We are trying to save the situation and they call us murderers, even Nazis, I cannot stand this and I do not accept it," he stated, adding that veterinarians are following a mandatory procedure to stop the spread of the virus.

He also explained that there are other methods of euthanasia, but the choice depends on factors such as speed and the size of the animal.
