Despo Michaelidou: Every Child's Right to Health is Important

The Commissioner for the Protection of Children's Rights, Despo Michaelidou, emphasized the importance of every child's right to health in her message for the start of the school year.

"Your health includes not only protection from diseases, but also from all forms of violence or neglect and support to deal with the stress or difficulties that everyday life may bring," the Commissioner noted.

D. Michaelidou added that schools, families and society have a responsibility to ensure children's access to health services and an environment that enhances their development.

The Commissioner called on children to speak openly about their needs and assured that her Office will continue to work to protect their health.
