The Psychotherapeutic Center for Long-Term Addiction (Ψ.Ε.Μ.Α.), the only open therapeutic center in Cyprus for individuals with a chronic history of substance use, offers a second chance to those battling addiction. In an interview with REPORTER, Eleftheria Kazamia, Director of the Cyprus Society of Integrative Psychotherapy, described the center's work and the challenges they face.

Ψ.Ε.Μ.Α. was founded in 2013 in Limassol and provides treatment to individuals with long-term addiction to drugs and alcohol, often burdened with social problems. The center has evolved into a full-day therapeutic center with the possibility of temporary accommodation to address crises and support families.

Treatment includes four stages: Meeting, Exploration, Commitment, and Change, with the possibility of aftercare. The staff includes clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, and employment officers. Approximately 30 patients are served, with an emphasis on supporting their families.

Ψ.Ε.Μ.Α. offers workshops such as EcoBio for the production of organic products and FunArt for crafts and gymnastics. It cooperates with other rehabilitation centers and organizations, despite difficulties in adequate funding.
