Are Sixties the New Forties? The Psychological Advantages

An analysis suggests that those who grew up in the '60s and '70s possess mental strengths that are rare in younger people.
With life expectancy and retirement ages increasing, today's sixty-year-olds are considered the forty-year-olds of yesterday, forming a significant part of the 'silver economy'.
According to UN forecasting models, the percentage of 65+ in Greece amounts to 24.4%. According to psychologists, sixty-year-olds possess advantages such as distress tolerance, independence, a practical relationship with emotions, social self-confidence, a survival mentality, patience, and a grounded sense of identity.
These characteristics allow them to cope with difficulties, be self-sufficient, manage their emotions, communicate effectively, find solutions, and have a stable identity.
