Are You a Serial Fixer? Signs You Might Be

Do you have a tendency to 'fix' others? Do you feel like you can make them better? You might be a serial fixer.
There's a fine line between caring and taking on other people's responsibilities. Serial fixers are compassionate and willing to help, but often end up feeling emotionally drained.
How to tell if you're a serial fixer:
- Anxious thoughts after conversations
- Guilt that you didn't do enough
- Overanalyzing conversations
- Feeling that your worth is defined by how helpful you are to others
This over-involvement can wear you down. When you carry everyone's emotional baggage, who carries yours?
What you can do:
- Listen with empathy. You don't always need to provide a solution.
- Don't absorb the emotions of others.
- Don't take responsibility for change.
- Ask yourself, 'Is this my job?'
You can help, but you don't need to take on the entire burden of other people's problems.
