Elena Kremlidou: Conviction for revenge porn and message

A 36-year-old police officer was found guilty of leaking a nude photo of Elena Kremlidou online in 2020. The court imposed a two-year suspended sentence and an administrative fine of 5,000 euros.

Elena Kremlidou, a well-known Instagrammer, chose to send her own message by wearing a t-shirt that read "until shame changes sides," encouraging victims of such attacks to speak out.

Her lawyer, Sofia Katsoula, expressed satisfaction with the decision, emphasizing that the lawsuit was against unknown perpetrators and that Kremlidou did not know the accused.

Kremlidou stressed that it is not wrong to send photos to people you trust, but it is reprehensible for someone to publish material without consent. She also mentioned that in 2018 she wanted to commit suicide because of the leak, but now she is not ashamed and wants to encourage other victims not to be ashamed either.
