ELIZA: "No child should be lost in silence"

The ELIZA Association, founded in 2008 by Prince Michael and Marina Karella, aims to protect children from all forms of abuse and neglect. The association was founded following the story of Eliza, a child who died from abuse in America.
ELIZA is active in the prevention and early intervention of abuse cases, offering training to professionals such as social workers, teachers and police officers. It has trained over 30,000 people.
According to the president of ELIZA, Marina Karella, "No child is expendable. No child should be left unaided." The Association implements innovative methods to raise awareness among institutions and citizens.
ELIZA's programs include:
- "Recognize - Protect": Training kindergarten teachers to recognize signs of abuse.
- ELIZA LINE 10454: Providing guidance to citizens on abuse cases.
- "Safe Touch": Informing children about safe and unsafe touches.
- Care Units for Child Safety: Early detection and care of children with abuse in hospitals.
ELIZA has five Care Units in hospitals in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Alexandroupolis.
The director of ELIZA, Xenia Papastavrou, stated that the Association is constantly vigilant in strengthening the child protection system.
