Today, August 1st, the church commemorates: the Procession of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross, the Hosio-martyr Elesis in Kythira, the Holy Nine Martyrs of Perga, the Holy Seven Maccabees and their mother Solomoni, and the Holy New Martyr Kassandra of Trebizond.

According to the name day calendar, the following names celebrate: Elesa, Elessa, Eukleos, Euklei, Euklea, Markelos, Solomoni, Kassandra.

The feast of the Procession of the Holy Cross coincides with the beginning of the Dormition Fast and was established in memory of the salvation of the Byzantines from invasions through the power of the Holy Cross.

The Holy Nine Martyrs, Leontios, Attos, Alexandros, Kindeas, Mnisitheos, Kyriakos, Minaios, Katounos, and Euklis, were martyred in Perga of Pamphylia during the time of Emperor Diocletian, refusing to renounce their faith.
