Today, August 31st, the Church commemorates the Deposition of the Holy Girdle of the Theotokos and the memory of the Saints of Evrytania. Among them are: Venerable Andrew the Hermit, Saint Michael Mavroudis, Saint Damian the Monk, Saint Seraphim the New Hieromartyr, Saint Nicholas the Grocer, Saint Cyprian the New Osiosmartyr, Saint Romanos the New Osiosmartyr, Venerable Akakios the New, Saint Gerasimos the New of Karpenisiotis, Venerable Eugene the Aetolian, Saint Cosmas the Aetolian, and Saint John the Neomartyr from Agarinon.

Additionally, according to the name day calendar, Saints Aidan and Phileortos are also honored, as well as the Gathering of Panagia Lykourisiotissa in Skoutera Agriniou.

The Holy Girdle is kept at the Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos and is the only personal item of the Virgin Mary that has been preserved. The establishment of its celebration on August 31st is attributed to Emperor Manuel I Komnenos.

Today, those named Aidanos, Aidani, Aidini, Phileortos, and Phileorti celebrate their name day.
