The Orthodox Church commemorates today, Saturday, January 10th, the memory of Saint Gregory, Bishop of Nyssa, one of the leading figures of patristic theology. Those celebrating their name day are: Antipas, Antipi, Ammonios, Dometianos, Dometiani, Theosevia.
Saint Gregory was the brother of Basil the Great and a member of the brilliant group of Cappadocian Fathers. The Church honors him as a teacher of wisdom, humility and spiritual enlightenment.
