«Dancing Roots» dance workshop for children in Limassol

The Limassol Folklore Group and Limassol 2030 are organizing the «Dancing Roots» dance workshop for children aged 10 to 16. The workshop takes place as part of the 17th International Children's Folk Dance Festival.

The improvisation workshop, led by dancers and dance educators Dara Milovanovic and Melina Sofokleous, aims to introduce participants to cultural heritage through dance and creative expression.

Based on the rhythms and movements of traditional dances from Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Armenia, Georgia and Cyprus, the workshop invites children to explore their traditions and discover the beauty of others.

Through games, guided improvisation and teamwork, children will engage in a dance dialogue.

The European Capital of Culture Limassol 2030 organization was founded in November 2022 by the Municipality of Limassol with the aim of claiming the title of European Capital of Culture.
