As part of the 17th International Children Folk Dance Festival, Lemesos 2030 is hosting a dance improvisation workshop for children on Thursday, June 26 at 11:30 am at Troodos Square.

Dancing Roots is a workshop specifically designed for children aged 10 to 16, bringing together young participants hosted in Cyprus by the Limassol Folklore Association as part of the three-day festival.

The improvisation workshop is led by dancers and dance educators Dara Milovanovic and Melina Sofocleous, aiming to introduce participants to the richness of cultural heritage through the fusion of dance and creative expression.

Drawing on the rhythms and movements of the participants’ traditional dances (Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Armenia, Georgia, Cyprus), the workshop invites children to explore their own traditions and discover the beauty of others through this shared experience. Through dance-based games, guided improvisation, and group work, participants will engage in a shared choreographic dialogue.

Organized by: Limassol Folklore Association & Lemesos 2030 in the frame of the 17th International Children Folk Dance Festival.
