Members of the Holy Synod believe that the recent actions of the former Metropolitan of Paphos, Mr. Tychikos, including letters appearing to state that he remains a metropolitan, do not change the facts.

The Holy Synod is not willing to allow Mr. Tychikos to perform services or gather believers, as this was one of the goals of the punishment imposed on him.

The filing of an Ecclesiastical Appeal (appeal) by Mr. Tychikos to the Ecumenical Patriarchate is his right, but it creates obligations. Until the Ecumenical Patriarchate decides, any actions are solidified.

The Holy Synod did not deal with the documents allegedly originating from Mr. Tychikos. Two Synod members wondered how texts by Mr. Tychikos could be mentioned on websites without them having received them.

Theologian Theodoros Kyriakou, commenting on the Confession of Faith, finds a significant gap, as it avoids mentioning the Council of Kolympari.

Archbishop George stated that he did not receive the Confession of Faith. If sent, it will be examined by the Holy Synod. A letter from Mr. Tychikos was posted on the website of the "Union of Orthodox Journalists," where he claims that he remains the Metropolitan of Paphos until the decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and asks to serve on the weekend of July 5-6 in Mesa Paphos.
