47-Year-Old Sentenced for Drug Possession in Dhekelia British Bases

A 47-year-old man has been sentenced to imprisonment for possession of narcotics in the Dhekelia British Bases area. According to the police, 2.5 grams of cocaine and 100 grams of cannabis were found in his possession.

The 47-year-old was also found guilty of intentionally destroying evidence, specifically cannabis. His arrest took place on October 14, 2024, in the Agios Nikolaos area, during a police operation to combat drugs and weapons.

Assistant Police Director of the Dhekelia British Bases, Police Inspector Dinos Petrou, stated that the conviction sends a strong message to those involved in similar crimes. He emphasized that the police will continue their efforts to ensure the safety of the communities.

Dinos Petrou also mentioned that the arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of the police force in identifying and apprehending suspects.
