Cyprus: Strategy to Support Elderly in Basic Services

The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Klea Chatzistefanou Papaellina, stated that the efforts of the Cypriot Presidency are focused on highlighting the strategy for affordable and high-quality support and access for older people to basic services.
Speaking on Trito, she referred to the clear messages sent by the Informal Council, which took place in Nicosia, regarding social policy. There was an exchange of views aimed at strengthening social cohesion and the well-being of citizens without exclusion.
As the Deputy Minister stated, the challenges of combating poverty as well as active aging were raised.
