Support measure for people with disabilities announced by the State Aid Control Office

The State Aid Control Office announced the implementation of a support measure titled "New Network of Social Integration Services for People with Disabilities", aiming to enhance independent living and social inclusion for people with disabilities.

The Commissioner for State Aid Control, Stella Michaelidou, issued Decision Number 475 on August 4, 2025, approving the measure under conditions. The competent authority for the implementation of the measure is the Department of Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

The measure will be funded by the "THALIA 2021-2027" Program with a budget of €6.5 million and will initially be implemented until December 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension. The Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of the Disabled (KYSOA) will undertake the provision of Services of General Economic Interest (SGEI) to people with disabilities.

KYSOA will hire 80 Decision-Making Support Advisors, who will provide support to at least 4,000 adults with disabilities, mainly people with mental and intellectual disabilities.
