Former Metropolitan of Paphos Submits Confession of Faith

The former Metropolitan of Paphos has submitted the Confession of Faith to the Ecumenical Patriarch, the Archbishop of Cyprus, and the members of the Hierarchy of the Church of Cyprus.
According to Tychikos, the Confession of Faith was drafted to avoid any scandal regarding possible disobedience to the Holy Synod and to refute slanders about secession or about a person who encourages the cessation of commemoration of the Bishops.
The former Metropolitan states that drafting the Confession was "without reason," as he declares that he complies with what he confessed during his ordination and has not joined any delusion or heresy. Furthermore, he confesses that he remains "immovable within the safe walls of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church" and that he never considered ceasing commemoration of the Archbishop of Cyprus.
As he mentions, he had informed Archbishop of Cyprus Georgios during their meeting on Friday, May 30, about his intention to submit the Confession of Faith.
Pending developments at the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the former Metropolitan calls on the Archbishop of Cyprus, the Synodal Hierarchs, and the people not to rush ahead and to spend the time in prayer and tranquility.
The Confession of Faith was signed on the eve of the session of the Holy Synod.
