Tychikos Submits Confession of Faith to Holy Synod

The former Metropolitan of Paphos, Tychikos, submitted the Confession of Faith to the Secretariat of the Holy Synod, as requested during the session on May 22.
According to ecclesiastical sources, the Confession of Faith has already been sent to the Ecumenical Patriarch, the Archbishop of Cyprus, and the members of the hierarchy of the Church of Cyprus.
Tychikos states in his confession that he submitted it to avoid any scandal regarding possible disobedience to the Holy Synod and to refute slanders about secession or urging the cessation of commemoration of the Bishops.
He points out that the drafting of the Confession was "without reason," as he complies with what he confessed during his ordination and has not joined any delusion or heresy. He also states that he remains within the walls of the Church and has never considered ceasing commemoration of the Archbishop of Cyprus.
Tychikos mentioned that he had informed the Archbishop of Cyprus, Georgios, of his intention to submit the Confession of Faith during their meeting on May 30.
Pending developments from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, he calls on the Archbishop, the Synodal Hierarchs, and the people not to rush ahead and to spend the time in prayer and tranquility. The submission of the Confession of Faith took place on the eve of the Holy Synod session, which is scheduled for today, Monday, and is expected to deal with financial matters.
