Olga Sofokleous: Hope from Cypriot Mother's Inspiring Story

Olga Sofokleous, the mother of a child with the rare Angelman syndrome, is a source of inspiration with her strength and dedication. Her son, Andreas, is now 20 years old and faces serious disabilities.
In an article by Kiki Perikleous in the newspaper "Politis", Olga describes the difficulties she has faced, including her own diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite the challenges, Olga continues to fight for her three children: Andreas, Nefeli (22 years old) and Alexandros (29 years old).
Olga Sofokleous founded "The Ark, Rehabilitation and Therapy Center" in Paphos, to meet the needs for therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The center hosts 35-40 children and relies on private contributions. Ms. Sofokleous appeals for state support, in order to create a Day Center for adults with disabilities.
Her biggest concern is the future of Andreas, when she is no longer here. She is working to ensure that Andreas has the care he needs.
