Journalist Christoforos Giorkatzis Dies at 55

Journalist Christoforos Giorkatzis has passed away at the age of 55, following a long illness. His funeral will take place in Cyprus.
Christoforos Giorkatzis was born in Cyprus in 1970. He studied at the Department of Communication and Media at Panteion University and pursued postgraduate studies in Legal and Economic Issues of Audiovisual and Multimedia Products.
He began his journalistic career at the newspaper "Alitheia" in Cyprus. He also worked at the Diplomatic and Historical Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, in the communication team of the Greek Presidency in 2003, and in the Organizing Committee of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. From 2000, he worked at the General Secretariat of Communication and Information.
The ESIEA (Journalists' Union of Athens Daily Newspapers) issued a statement expressing its condolences for the loss of Christoforos Giorkatzis, emphasizing his consistency, diligence, and work ethic.
