Frank Caprio, the 'Kindness Judge,' Passes Away

Frank Caprio, the judge known from Caught in Providence for his kind and compassionate rulings, has died at the age of 88. The news was announced via his Instagram account on August 20.
Frank Caprio was battling pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, their five children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Caprio was first appointed as a judge in 1985 and became widely known through the television program Caught in Providence, which aired from 2018 to 2020.
In the show, his decisions, such as frequently dismissing traffic tickets when defendants shared personal hardships, went viral and earned him the title of 'kindness judge.' He retired from the bench in 2023.
