First Flu Death in Cyprus – Increased Occupancy in Hospitals

A person has died in Cyprus due to the flu, as announced by the OKYpY Spokesperson, Charalambos Charilaou. The death occurred in mid-December and involved a person belonging to a vulnerable group.
At the same time, there is an increased attendance at the A&E departments of public hospitals, with bed occupancy ranging from 85%-90%. However, according to Mr. Charilaou, no particular problems have arisen in hospitals so far.
Regarding the RSV virus, the number of admissions is small, possibly due to vaccinations in children.
