Gisèle Pelicot: Moved by Queen Camilla's Letter of Support

Gisèle Pelicot has expressed her deep emotion regarding the letter of support she received from Queen Camilla, wife of King Charles. The 73-year-old French woman, who was a victim of horrific abuse by her ex-husband, Dominique Pelicot, spoke about the letter in an interview with the BBC.
Dominique Pelicot, who drugged and raped Gisèle for ten years, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. The trial, described as the 'trial of the century in France,' ended in December 2024.
Gisèle Pelicot, despite her right to a closed-door trial, chose a public proceeding, stating that 'shame must change sides.' Her bravery has made her a symbol against sexual violence.
In her interview, Gisèle Pelicot stated that she was honored to receive the letter from Queen Camilla, who supports victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Gisèle Pelicot also announced the release of her book, 'A Hymn to Life,' on February 17.
Queen Camilla praised Gisèle Pelicot for the 'extraordinary dignity and courage' she showed during the trial.
