Aitana Bonmatí Hospitalized with Viral Meningitis

Shock in Barcelona and the Spanish national team with Aitana Bonmatí! The two-time Ballon d'Or winner is hospitalized with viral meningitis.

Spain's national team coach, Montse Tomé, stated that Bonmatí is a very important player and they will wait for her as long as they can. Her participation in Euro 2025 is doubtful.

Bonmatí has scored 30 goals in 78 matches for Spain and was a key member of the team that won the 2023 World Cup and the Nations League last year.

Viral meningitis is less severe than bacterial meningitis and usually improves in 7-10 days.

According to reports, Bonmatí is doing well and wants to return to the field immediately.
