According to reports, fans of Universidad de Chile threw objects, causing damage. A video shows an Independiente fan displaying his team's logo to avoid being hit by other fans.

In another incident, a fan, in an attempt to escape the riots, jumped into the void from a height of 40 meters, forcing authorities to stop the match.
